Following up the Nike Cortez release of the bold and loud? Nike Kyrie 4 Confetti , Nike hits us with the Ankletaker colorway which is definitely a much more subtle and?muted option. When it comes to the materials used on this pair, the Kyrie 4 uses engineered mesh on the front portion of the shoe, while opting for suede and leather on the rear portion. The choice to do that insinfluenced by Kyrie Irving and Ben?Nethongkome s (designer of the Kyrie 4) interest in vintage Nike and Jordan silhouettes. This results in the shoe having?a bit of modern (engineered mesh) and vintage Nike/Jordan (suede and leather) flair to them. Other standout features include Kyrie s logo done in two-toned fashion on the leather tongue tag, the raised embroidered White Nike Swoosh on the side panels and the two-toned speckling on the midsole that help give the shoe some nice pop.
It looks like we will all find out this weekend what the final verdict from the sneaker community will be. But for now, check out our early look at the kicks courtesy of Lapstone and Hammer and hear our thoughts on the drop. Don t forget to check out our Nike Air Jordan 4 White/Cement launch page for all the latest info, images and videos about this highly anticipated release. This Friday, Nike will finally be releasing the ever-elusive Nike Flyknit Racer "Multicolor 2.0" stateside. With leaks dating back to last year, this very popular colorway that Nike Classic Cortez turns pink, blue and volt yarn into something beautiful has been on the minds of sneakerheads everywhere, especially those poor saps who missed out on the first release back in 2013. Who wasn t one of those poor saps two years? Why, yours truly, of course. I ve been enjoying my Racers for two years now and while I admittedly never run in them (way more comfortable running in either Air Max, Frees or Boost), they immediately became a regular part Nike Cortez Womens of my "walking shoes" rotation from the day I copped them.
I ll admit that I wasn t biggest fan of the Nike Zoom Vick line when they first came out in the mid-2000s. Mostly because I ignored it because I was in college and trainers weren t my thing, but when I thought of Michael Vick, he was either the boss football player or the most unfair video game football character since Bo Jackson. My fondest memory of Nike and Michael Vick wasn t even a shoe; it was the later, Nike is looking to convert people like myself who know Vick s entire history and kids who might only know him in his second rehabilitated life as a former Eagles and current Jets quaterback with the return of his signature line.First up is the Nike Zoom Vick 2, which we have for you to check out in video form courtesy of Champs Sports. It s an OG colorway that Nike Cortez Mens matches up nicely with his Atlanta Falcons uniform at the time. So how does the trainer of ten years ago match up to today s Frees and Flyknits and the like? Hard to say at the moment, but as a fashion statement, it s hard not to notice the bold black and white color blocking, that s for sure. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
Editor s Note: This interview with Victor Cruz was first published on February 3, 2013, just before Super Bowl XLVII. We re bringing it back on the eve of the release of the Nike Air Trainer Cruz Haystack . When I asked Cruz about getting his own signature shoe back then, even I wasn t sure it was really going to happen. To see Cruz s ascension from popular athlete that loves sneakers to reaching rarefied air with a Nike signature shoe has been fascinating to watch. We had a chance to catch up with New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz, who was in New Orleans to promote his role in Pepsi s Super Bowl commercial.? While many sneakerheads know Cruz for his hilarious Foot Locker commercials, 2012 was definitely a star-making year for him.? After a record-breaking 2011 season, the public could not get enough of the young wide receiver with the famous salsa touchdown dance that was capped off with a Super Bowl XLVI win against the New Engleand Patriots.? But he is also making waves in the sneakerhead community as well thanks to his featured role in Nike s return to the NFL and for always being spotted by fans in the freshest kicks.
So Nike has actually said no to you?? It s something that I ve wondered about because sometimes you see certain star athletes get them, but then others on the [same level of popularity] don t& With your featured role in Nike, you ve been one of those guys that has led to charge in making NFL gear really something that you wear outside of the field.? Nike Sportswear is really making an effort to push the jerseys and the apparel as stuff you can wear. While you are with Nike, your teammate Hakeem Nicks is with Jordan Brand.? When you guys ever get on the field, do you ever look at Nike Air Max Plus his [Air Jordan 9] cleats and wonder if Nike can maybe hook you up with something like that on your feet?We know that Calvin Johnson recently got a pair of Nike signature cleats .? Has Nike ever approached you about getting some cleats of your own?For Super Bowl weekend, I wore a little bit more fashionable shoes.? The other day, I wore my white Balenciaga low tops.? But today, I m going "Black History Month" [Nike Zoom KD 5], bring them out to New Orleans, see if they know what [img]https://www.suzukinozomu.com/images/large/nike cortez-060baq.jpg[/img] the shoe game is all about, so I m excited. |
